The YP Power Hour features a series of short, authentic talks where young professionals share real experiences that shaped their careers—challenges faced, lessons learned, and how those moments influenced their growth. These stories offer practical insights and relatable perspectives for peers across the industry.

10:00am-11:00am: Fear of Failure Module — Stacia Eckenwiler
During this module attendees will hear from an experienced water professional discuss their career failures, both technical and interpersonal, and the lessons they learned from failure. Attendees will then participate in a peer-to-peer mentoring activity, discussing their personal fears and providing advice and support to each other.
11:00am-11:30 am: Problem Solving Challenge — Technical Lead-In A YP-moderated panel discussion will explore treatment options, cost, regulatory implications, and community impacts of Water Reuse. Panelists will also address communication challenges—such as public misconceptions—and share lessons from leading communities. 11:30am-12:30pm: Lunch
12:30pm-1:45pm: Problem Solving Challenge Participants will work in teams to evaluate two potential solutions to a real-world water infrastructure scenario. Guided by experts, each team will analyze the options and develop a recommendation. Teams will then pitch their solutions to the experts, justifying their approach based on the criteria provided. This interactive session is designed to encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and practical application of technical knowledge.
1:45pm-2:00pm: Break
2:00pm-3:30pm: Water Circuit Challenge Participants will rotate through a series of hands-on and interactive stations designed to test their technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and teamwork. Activities will include tasks such as assembling and repairing system components, running laboratory and process control exercises, identifying service line materials, testing water quality, and tackling safety scenarios. Teams will also engage in fun challenges like water trivia and taste tests, earning points along the way.
