Description

Staff from Raftelis, who have worked with communities across Ohio and the broader water industry, will lead this session on establishing rate and pricing policies that protect the financial interests of utilities when serving new, large data center users. The webinar will present strategies that support equitable cost recovery and rate structures designed to address the potential for intermittent and highly variable water demand. Case studies from communities where data centers have been developed and proposed will also be shared, providing practical insights utilities can apply in their own systems.

This session is part of the Utility Management Committee Summer Webinar Series, a three-part series focused on emerging challenges facing utilities across the water industry, specifically data centers and cybersecurity. Through this series, participants will gain practical guidance on navigating the financial and operational considerations of adding large water users, such as data centers, as well as actionable steps to prepare for and comply with Ohio’s evolving cybersecurity requirements. The full series includes:

Registration is required in advance. No same-day registrations will be accepted.

Credit Requirements & Policies

  • Partial credit will not be awarded.
  • Each participant must log in individually on their own computer or tablet to receive credit.
  • To qualify for contact hours, attendees must:
    • Maintain the webinar as their active screen for at least 90% of the session; and
    • Correctly answer the majority of questions presented at the end of each session.
  • Participants using multiple monitors must ensure the webinar remains on their primary screen.

Certificates & Reporting
